Call for Papers: LBS 2016, Vienna, Austria

The ICA Commission on Location Based Services and the Vienna University of Technology are pleased to invite you to the 13th International Conference on Location-Based Services (LBS 2016), which will take place in Vienna on November 14-16,
2016.

Built on the success of previous conferences in this series, LBS 2016 aims to
offer a platform for scholars, researchers, and industry/market operators
from various disciplines and practice to meet, interact and exchange knowledge,
experience, plans and ideas on how LBS can and could be improved and on
how it will influence both science and society.

The Call for Papers is currently open. Deadlines for submission are June 1 for
full papers, July 1 for work in progress, and September 18 for showcases.
High-quality submissions are intended to be published in the Journal of Location
Based Services and in a book of the Springer series Lecture Notes on Geoinformation

Call for Papers: Special session “LBS and Ubiquitous Cartography” at ISPRS Congress 2016

The LBS Commission is organizing a special session “LBS and Ubiquitous Cartography” (SpS6-ICA) at the ISPRS Congress 2016, which will take place from 12-19 July 2016 in Prague, Czech Republic. The deadline for full paper submissions and abstract submissions is 13 December 2015.

Topics of interests include (but not limited to): Outdoor and indoor positioning, Smart environments and ambient spatial intelligence, Spatio-temporal data acquisition, processing, and analysis, LBS, crowdsourcing and volunteered geographic information (VGI), Neocartography, Geotagged big data, Personalization and context-aware adaptation, Visualization techniques for LBS, Novel user interfaces and interaction techniques, 3D and augmented reality, Innovative LBS systems and applications, Wayfinding and navigation, LBS and transportation applications, User studies and evaluations, Privacy and usability, Human factors in LBS, Smart cities, Legal and business aspects in LBS, Open source solutions and standards

Invitation to join the LBS commission and mailing list

On 28 August 2015, the 16th ICA General Assembly in Rio de Janeiro approved the new research commission on Location-Based Services (LBS) for the term of 2015-2019. The commission aims to provide a platform for anyone whose work is either focused on or relevant to LBS to interact and exchange knowledge, experience and ideas on how LBS can be improved and on how it will influence both science and society.

LBS is an interdisciplinary research field. Within the LBS commission, we are interested in any research topics related to LBS, including (without being limited to) outdoor and indoor positioning, context and user modelling, location tracking and processing, user interfaces, usability, privacy and social issues, smart cities, mobility and transportation applications, health applications, and so on.

You are cordially invited to become a member of the commission and participate in its activities.
